Description   Swifty Wireless, USB Switch Interface Swifty is an adaptive switch interface in an extremely compact package. It accepts industry standard 3.5 mm, stereo or mono plugs for directly connecting up to two adaptive switches. Swifty is powered from the USB host and does not require external power. With Beam™, our available infrared transmitter, someone can use adaptive switches without being tethered to the computer. Beam also has an additional input for up to three adaptive switches. Beam Infrared switch transmitter for use with HeadMouse® Extreme and Swifty™ The Beam allows a HeadMouse® Extreme user to actuate the left, right and middle mouse buttons using adaptive switches without a direct connection to the HeadMouse. For a Swifty user, the Beam sends up to three button events that Swifty interprets as mouse buttons, joystick, buttons or keyboard keys based on Swifty configuration. The Beam uses low power infrared light to communicate with the HeadMouse Extreme or Swifty much like a television remote control. A receiver is built-in to the HeadMouse Extreme and is located near one of the HeadMouse logos behind the small window. A receiver is also built into Swifty and is located under the window in the overlay. The Beam is generally used by those with adaptive switches that wish to break the hard connection between the switch and the HeadMouse or Swifty. Often this is a power wheelchair owner that wants independence from an attendant for connecting and disconnecting his or her switch. The switch jacks accept industry standard adaptive switches, which use 1/8-inch (3.5-mm) plugs. Single and dual switches with mono or stereo plugs may be used with Beam. For example, our Sip/Puff Switch may be used with one cable to the Beam for left and right mouse buttons. **Beam will only operate with Swifty or HeadMouse Extreme.   Optional Cable Kit To facilitate special installations there is an available Cable Kit with a 2.5-foot (760-mm) USB extender cable, a 1-foot (300-mm) 3.5-mm switch extender cable and a stereo-to-mono plug adapter. The stereo-to-mono adapter allows two single switches with mono plugs to be connected to Swifty. The cable kit may also be used with Beam, or other switch adapted devices. Swifty's integrated mode switch selects mouse, joystick, or keyboard functions.
