In the morning, the Rise & Shine lamp slowly brightens and the built-in speaker gently increases its volume until you’re fully awake. A 1993 research study on dawn simulators conducted by the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Washington School of Medicine, concluded:
